Adoption of the Amendment \n\n\n\tAccordingly, under the authority delegated to me by the Administrator, the FAA amends 14 CFR part 39 as follows: \n\nPART 39--AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES \n\n0 1. The authority citation for part 39 continues to read as follows: \n\n\n\tAuthority: 49 U.S.C. 106(g), 40113, 44701. \n\n\n\nSec. 39.13 (Amended) \n\n\n\n0 2. The FAA amends Sec. 39.13 by adding the following new airworthiness directive (AD): 2015-02-05 The Boeing Company: Amendment 39-18072; Docket No. FAA- 2014-0624; Directorate Identifier 2014-NM-005-AD. \n\n(a) Effective Date \n\n\n\tThis AD is effective March 5, 2015. \n\n(b) Affected ADs \n\n\n\tNone. \n\n(c) Applicability \n\n\n\tThis AD applies to all The Boeing Company airplanes identified in paragraphs (c)(1), (c)(2), and (c)(3) of this AD, certificated in any category. \n\t(1) The Boeing Company Model 717-200 airplanes. \n\t(2) The Boeing Company Model DC-10-10, DC-10-10F, DC-10-15, DC- 10-30, DC-10-30F (KC-10A and KDC-10), DC-10-40, andDC-10-40F airplanes; and Model MD-10-10F and MD-10-30F airplanes. \n\t(3) The Boeing Company Model DC-9-81 (MD-81), DC-9-82 (MD-82), DC-9-83 (MD-83), and DC-9-87 (MD-87) airplanes; Model MD-88 airplanes; and Model MD-90-30 airplanes. \n\n(d) Subject \n\n\n\tAir Transport Association (ATA) of America Code 34, Navigation. \n\n(e) Unsafe Condition \n\n\n\tThis AD was prompted by reports of latent air data transducer degradation. We are issuing this AD to prevent erroneous air data information, which could lead to a mid-air collision within reduced vertical separation minimum (RVSM) airspace. \n\n(f) Compliance \n\n\n\tComply with this AD within the compliance times specified, unless already done. \n\n(g) Maintenance or Operations Program Revision \n\n\n\tWithin 30 days after the effective date of this AD, revise the maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, by incorporating the information specified in paragraphs (g)(1), (g)(2), or (g)(3) of this AD, as applicable. In accordance with 14 CFR 39.19, send your request to your principal inspector or local Flight Standards District Office, as appropriate. If sending information directly to the manager of the ACO, send it to the attention of the person identified in paragraph (j) of this AD.
