Adoption of the Amendment \n\n\n\tAccordingly, under the authority delegated to me by the Administrator, the FAA amends 14 CFR part 39 as follows: \n\nPART 39--AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES \n\n0 1. The authority citation for part 39 continues to read as follows: \n\n\n\tAuthority: 49 U.S.C. 106(g), 40113, 44701. \n\n\n\nSec. 39.13 (Amended) \n\n0 2. The FAA amends Sec. 39.13 by adding the following new airworthiness directive (AD): \n\n2014-16-09 The Boeing Company: Amendment 39-17933; Docket No. FAA- 2014-0252; Directorate Identifier 2013-NM-213-AD. \n\n(a) Effective Date \n\n\n\tThis AD is effective September 23, 2014. \n\n(b) Affected ADs \n\n\n\tNone. \n\n(c) Applicability \n\n\n\tThis AD applies to The Boeing Company airplanes identified in paragraphs (c)(1) through (c)(3) of this AD, certificated in any category. \n\t(1) Model 707-100 long body, -200, -100B long body, and -100B short body airplanes; Model 707-300, -300B, -300C, and -400 series airplanes; and Model 720 and 720B series airplanes; as identified in Boeing 707 Alert Service Bulletin A3538, dated October 2, 2013. \n\t(2) Model 727, 727C, 727-100, 727-100C, 727-200, and 727-200F series airplanes, as identified in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 727-35A0031, dated July 18, 2013. \n\t(3) Model 737-100, -200, and -200C series airplanes, as identified in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 737-35A1140, dated August 28, 2013. \n\n(d) Subject \n\n\n\tAir Transport Association (ATA) of America Code 35, Oxygen. \n\n(e) Unsafe Condition \n\n\n\tThis AD was prompted by a report of a fire which originated near the first officer's area and caused extensive damage to the flight deck on a different airplane model.
